My daughters have been going to Jay Sordean since my 6 year old was an infant. He’s a ND and OMD, does acupuncture with adults and a needle-less Japanese form of acupuncture with children, in addition to homeopathy and herbal recommendations. He seems to have good intuition and the treatments always help a lot. Also the homeopathic remedies from his office are ground into powder to put in water, not sure if this is the intention but I like that the kids are not associating feeling bad with pill-popping. His office is named the Redwood Clinic, on Bancroft Way, # 849-1176. Our insurance has been covering and/ or reimbursing for it, too. Chris

Do you have difficulty breathing? Whether sitting still or with exertion? And are you taking inhalers? Chances are, you have a diagnosis of asthma and/or reactive airway obstruction from allergies. The temporary relief that comes from the inhalers or steroids is just that, temporary. And what side effects can you expect over time from the medications? Many parents come to me for asthma because they have heard about our successes. They also bring in their children to break the pattern early on.

Asthma is a condition of breathing difficulty where the airways occasionally constrict, asthma lungsbecome inflamed and are lined with excessive amounts of mucous. Episodes may be triggered by environmental stimulants, such as allergens, tobacco smoke, cold or warm air, perfume, pet dander, moist air, exercise, emotional stress, or other chemical exposures. Symptoms include wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness and coughing.  Symptoms of asthma can range from mild to life threatening. Elimination of the offending substances and drugs are commonly used to address the problem at The Redwood Clinic. Acupuncture, herbs, vitamins, nutritional changes, homeopathy, and other approaches have been found to help many adults and children. Call today to make an appointment 510-849-1176

Asthma Treatment with Acupuncture & Natural Herbs

Testimonial-Oliver“Our 3-year old son Oliver suffered from asthma whenever he got an upper respiratory virus before coming to see Dr. Jay. The pediatrician was recommending a daily steroid.  We decided to see Dr. Jay instead. Oliver received massage, homeopathy, and supplements, and has been seeing Dr. Jay for one year now. He’s had no asthma symptoms since starting at The Redwood Clinic.  And unlike visiting the pediatrician, he [Oliver] enjoys coming here! THANKS.” Oliver’s Mom & Dad

“Jay Sordean (in Berkeley) works with children and adults and is a very skilled OMD and also homeopath. My children don’t have asthsma but have been going there since birth and the (neddle- less acupuncture)treatments are very effective. They are able to bill insurance but I don’t know about medi-cal. after first visit it is reasonably priced (about 40 I think) especially compared to a doctor. I think many alternative doctors could do treatments and make excellent recommendations that you wouldn’t receive from an allopathic MD, but I believe most would want you to have albuterol or something of the sort on hand for emergencies.
